About Us

SnugBaby came about as a result of having a new baby and a toddler. When my baby was tiny carrying him in my arms wasn't a problem, but as he got older I found I needed a way to carry him comfortably, and be able to deal with my older son at the same time. With other soft baby carriers I tried, it quickly became apparent that my son found it uncomfortable as his legs were spread too wide. I experimented with making my own baby slings and found a design that was comfortable for both him and me, as well as being functional, and stylish. And so SnugBaby was born.

Since then, SnugBaby has grown and developed into a well known UK brand. I love finding beautiful fabrics to use for my slings, making them a lovely accessory, as well as a functional carrier.

We are keen to support the UK economy, and so, due to the growth of SnugBaby, we have recently begun a manufacturing contract with a high quality, reliable British manufacturer.

We are stringent in our quality control, and are amongst the few soft baby carrier which are accredited to the optional British Standard, BSEN 13209-2:2005. All SnugBaby carriers are made from 100% cotton, and in 2010, we became the first brand of baby carriers to make and sell an 100% organic cotton mei tai, which complies with the British Standard.

SnugBaby are members of the Consortium of Sling Manufacturers and Retailers, a group which was brought about following the recall of a "bag style sling", to ensure that parents wishing to use a baby carrier are properly informed about safe options, and how to correctly use their carrier.
