Blogger’s Block

You know how it is sometimes – you know you should write something, but you have got so much going on in your head that time slips away and before you know it you don’t know what you wanted to write in the first place. Well after a manic, though lovely, weekend that’s how I feel. I know I want to write *something*; I just don’t know what. So, as usual in these kind of situations, I turn to my trusty friend, Twitter.

It’s very simple – there are only 5 rules, so even I should be able to manage it! Here’s what I have to do:

1. Collect the book that you have most handy.

2. Turn to page 161.

3. Find the 5th complete sentence.

4. Quote the sentence on your blog.

5. Pass it on to 5 other bloggers

Sounds good, eh? Well, I am (very rapidly) reading  The Time Traveler’s Wife. I’d wanted to read it for ages, but didn’t get round to it, then lo and behold it happened to be on 3 for 2 in Waterstone’s when I was buying SnugMan two books for our wedding anniversay (ok, so 6 years was meant to be iron, but what can you buy that’s iron?!) Anyway, I finally started it last week on the way to Birmingham on the train, and it’s fab!

So, page 161, 5th sentence…

“Oh, right, Michigan’s an hour ahead.”

Hmm, probably not the best sentence in the book, to be honest. The plot really is great, so I think you should give it a try, if you haven’t done already. I do love reading, especially books with a bit of romance and a bit of fantasy  – I find it such fabulous escapism, and this book is particularly good. I am not even sure if I want to see the film now, because it won’t be as good as the book in my head!
