The diary of a work-at-home mum with a passion for slings

Oh dear, I am officially a Blogger!

September 13th, 2009 by Claire Willis

Well, after writing my ramblings for 18 months, I have just joined British Mummy Bloggers, so I guess I had better start doing this properly! I also suppose that it officially makes me a “blogger” (as an aside, is it only me that thinks that that sounds like some kind of insult, as in “ooh you blogger!”?)

So, how does one blog? Good question, Clairey. Hmm, better read up on that, I think. There must be more to it than just wittering mindlessly along, like I do. I have a tendecy to write my blog in the evening when the SnugBoys are in bed, usually after a glass of wine or two (that’s I blog after a glass of wine or two, not they are in bed after a glass of wine or two, just to clarify!) I found an article about blogging, which I intend to read when I have finished this post. Perhaps I should have read it before, but now we’ll get to see if my blogging improves by next time.

I have seen blogs be “tagged” and have been tagged myself, but I haven’t done anything with it yet, as I am not quite sure what I am meant to do. Do I just use it to tell you all a bit more about myself? Part of my trouble is blogger’s block, so if it’s just to give me something else to write about, then that might be good. Or possibly boring. Hmmm.

Anyway, if any Mummy (or otherwise) Bloggers are reading this, and have any tips for me to join the ranks, please do let me know. Oh, and be gentle with me!

It would appear you’re doing just fine. If you really want to get into blogging, my advice would be to read lots of blogs and leave comments. I’ve found that becoming part of the blogging community has put me in touch with funny, sympathetic, interesting, challenging, all-round rather splendid people.
Looking forward to reading more. By the way, those tags are a good way to unblock you!

    Thanks :)
I am trying to read loads of blogs – I think I just need an extra 24 hours in each day, lol
