Adventures in Babywearing
Last bank holiday weekend, we took a family mini-holiday to the beautiful Wiltshire/Somerset countryside. With the current credit crunching times, the SnugBaby family were keen to find high standard yet good value accomodation, and it’s safe to say with By The Byre Cottages, we found it! The cottage we stayed in offered everything you would want with a small family, with all the extras (stairgate, bed guards and any other baby items) thrown in for free!
We visited several child-friendly attractions, including Longleat, and (to break up our journey) Drayton Manor’s Thomasland – fabulous for Thomas The Tank Engine fans everywhere! Both were a huge hit with our SnugBoys – although I think driving Terence the Tractor was the highlight for Son#1. Son#2 was happiest watching the giraffes at Longleat because “they aren’t noisy”. Bless him. Mindful
of the pennies, as ever, we even managed to use Tesco Clubcard vouchers for entry into both attractions, which meant that we paid less than £20 for the family, for entry into Longleat, including all the inside areas! Great value!
Another fabulous place to visit if you are in that area is the National Trust property of Stourhead. We spent a beautiful afternoon walking around the lake and watching the world go by, before enjoying coffee and cake in the cafe afterwards.
I can highly recommended holidaying in the UK, and reminding ourselves just how beautiful the English countryside is, and just what we have to offer here!
We’d love to hear about any great days out you’ve been on – especially if they’re child-friendly – let us know in the comments below!

Hi
You wanted to hear about great days out….. have you heard of Treasure Trails – they cost just £5.00 and are a brilliant way to spend half a day with friends and family exploring a town by following a set of clues and directions and working out either who the murder is, or where the treasure is buried or what the deactivation code is to stop the bomb going off! Next time you want a mini holiday, I recommend Herefordshire and I will help you find a child friendly B&B and a pushchair friendly Trail!
